Bonjour lecteurs! It’s time to publish what we have been up to last month. June 2023 was epic, nothing less! ‘Life Is An Adventure‘, famously said l’auteur Helen Keller. Well, you bet it was! Not only I had la chance to go to the beautiful Isle of Wight with the boys, but I also made it to Croatia on a solo trip. Well, not quite but it felt like this as it was my first ever vacances officielles without Grumpy Boyfriend and Stanley! And you know what, I LOVED it! So I will have to do it more often. Here are my highlights of last month for you.
A Slow Start
After a very emotional May 2023, last month was all about my family life. Indeed, it was officiellement half-term for 2 weeks, so it was all about Stanley.
But also work and some last-minute deadlines before our mini-family break.
I was so excited to go away and enjoy some sunshine.
Isle Of Wight
Have you ever been to the Isle of Wight? As an ex-pat myself, I have always imagined this island being a holiday destination for oldies and fans of walks đ
Don’t shoot me! It’s the common idĂ©e, but it happened to be way more than this!
We worked with the tourism board and I truly discovered the Isle of Wight. We found so many family-friendly places where Stanley had lots of fun.
Ma place prĂ©fĂ©rĂ©e? Osbourne House, which is now an English Heritage site. It was Queen Victoria and Prince Albertâs seaside family getaway. Apparently, the Queen fell in love with this location straight away and even said âIt is impossible to imagine a prettier spotâ.

Back To Kent
After a few days of peace, it was time to get back to Kent. We made it to Deal for the weekend before Stanley went back to l’Ă©cole.
As for me, the new exciting project I mentioned last month did not happen.
It was so disappointing as I got excited. Working as a freelancer, I have to constantly create my own opportunités and I took it very personally that it did not work out.
I started doubting myself and my skills when really, sometimes it’s not meant to happen and it is out of my control.
Nevertheless, something else better was yet to come!
I Made It To Croatia On My Own!
Indeed, I was invited on a bloggers’ trip with Jet 2 to go to Croatia. Bien sĂ»r at first, I said ‘maybe’ because I did not want to leave Stanley with Grumpy Boyfriend for 5 days.
But I managed to organise it with work and I finally decided to make it.
Let me tell you, I did so damn well! I absolutely LOVED it and met some lovely fellow bloggers and content creators.
And the best in all of that? Stanley was absolutely fine. I was worried it would be hard for Grumpy to do it all with his own job. But it turns out that the boys can survive without me after all đ€ŁAnd I had so much yummy food too while abroad.
So I am not irreplaceable in the end. But it’s a relief because now, I might be planning more trips without themđ Where should I go next?
June 2023 – Life Is An Adventure
So oui, June 2023 definitely proves that Life Is An Adventure. I mean, who am I!?
Two holidays in a month and I feel ever so lucky to have such great opportunités as a content creator.
But there are still so many doubts I have to deal with in my mind. I am still unsure about my job and what to do in the future.
I feel like I could do with a new challenge, yet what to do? On the one hand, I know I am good at my day job and I am very knowledgeable in my area. Yet, I can’t stop but think there is something better and more exciting somewhere else…
Have you ever felt like this? How do you feel about your current job? Satisfied or frustrated with your position?
Time should tell me what to do.
For now, it is truly beautiful with some sunny days and therefore, I am planning to make the most of the summer with Stanley.
He is finishing school in less than a fortnight and is off to start Year 3 in September. So I want to enjoy every single day with him.
After all, my family has always been one of my core values. Hoping that June 2023 was only the start of a beautiful adventure đ
What do you have planned for the Summer holiday? Will you go abroad? Where will you travel to?
Disclosure: This post might feature some sponsored content I recently published but it is merely a list of my highlights of the month! This a post where I share some reflections as a mum in the country and in London. I hope it will inspire you to get on more family adventures.
You had another fun filled month with so many highlights. It was good to have the sunshine for so long during June
What an adventure
Some lovely pictures here.
What an amazing month you’ve had! A child free holiday sounds like bliss right now đ
I am sorry the project did not work out. It is so easy to blame yourself but deep down I know you know it’s not. I’m a full time mum and I love what I do but I always can’t help but think I can do so much more like work in the evenings or in the early mornings to support the family. I feel useless that I can’t help my family in the financial crisis we’re going through. But I know everyone assures me that I am doing a great job providing love and care for the kids. But as humans I think it’s great we are driven and WANT new opportunities. It is a great trait to have. When one opportunity is lost, I am sure a new one will come.
What fun for yiu all – here’s to your next one
Looks like you made some wonderful memories and so lucky with the weather too
Love the ice cream sundae photo. đ “how much can I get in in one go?”
You always have the best time! Always lots of inspiration xx
