Bonjour lecteurs! We went on a mini-trip to Jersey last month and I have not talked about it here yet! I am so busy with Baba at home with me this Summer 🙂 I try to entertain him as much as possible… So I have only had a chance to sort out our pics today! I will soon write a full post with some cool things you can do with kids in the fameuse Channel Island. But for now, I will share with you our Stay at the Merton Hotel in Jersey.
The Merton Hotel in Jersey
We decided to book a room at the Merton Hotel in Jersey as it is one of the most family-friendly resorts on the island.
With its Aquadome and spacious rooms, it seemed like the plan parfait. Plus, the hotel also has some good restaurants with food that any kid would love!
As soon as we arrived on the island, we got our hire car and we arrived at the hotel within 20 minutes drive.
Another good thing about the Merton Hotel? You can walk into town via Howard Davis Park. When Grumpy Boyfriend went out for a boys day out with his local friend, I easily got on the High Street for some shopping with Baba!
A bit outside of Saint Helier, you also have quick access to the Havre des Pas.
It was lovely to walk around the area on the first evening and we even stopped by a local pub for some ice cream!
The Hotel’s Ambience
The Hotel is very family-friendly with a lot of spaces and gardens for little ones to play in. You can even leave them at the kids club and there is some kind of entertainment every night!
We loved walking along the park but also enjoyed a couple of drinks in the bar lounge.
The Aquadome
The Aquadome is obviously the BIG THING out there for families. Baba absolutely loved it and we spent a couple of mornings in the pool.
If you feel more adventurous or if you have older children, you can also have a go at The FlowRider™ Surf Wave. It looks fun if you are into surfing.
Dinner at the Bonetti’s Restaurant
People have their breakfast at the Belvedere each morning with a large buffet but you can also enjoy some American food at Jersey Joe’s Diner.
We were kindly invited to try the Italian restaurant within the resort. Bonetti’s is a lovely option for families. With its choice of Italian classics such as sandwiches, pizza, pasta & salads, you can eat with a fab view of the main garden.
The place was spacious and the staff was very sweet with Baba. They already noticed him the day before as we stopped by for an impromptu snack! We fancied some ice cream…
Grumpy Boyfriend decided to go for some salmon while Baba and I enjoyed some pizzas!
And we had some ice cream bien sûr!
The Merton Hotel in Jersey
Part of the Seymour Hotels group, The Merton Hotel is a good option for families who want to visit the largest of the Channel Islands. Only 20 minutes drive from the airport, it has many facilities to keep your little ones busy whatever the weather.
We made the most of the swimming-pool when we had a rainy day!
En plus, it is very close to the town centre as well as many good attractions (more on this in my next post!).
The resort is well equipped for families. You can, for example, book a self-catering suite if you travel with other members of the family. Our room was spacious and quiet. Baba loved his bunked bed for sure!
Its restaurants are also family-friendly at sensible prices so you don’t have to break the bank!
If your vacances idéales are all about a warm and friendly place with good facilities for kids, this is your spot!
Disclosure: We booked and paid for our own room. But the Merton Hotel kindly gifted us a free dinner at its Bonetti’s Restaurant. All opinions remain our own as always!
