Meditation For Kids With Wee Meditate

Bonjour lecteurs! In a busy and over connected world, it we can easily get lost and overwhelmed. How do you find peace and calm in both your body and mind? Personnellement, I love going for long bike rides and walks to unplug or practise daily meditation. I think it helps me a lot. En plus, nowadays, children are more stressed than ever. They are living in a world that expects more of them than it ever has. Our children are struggling with a rise of anxiety, depression, ADHD etc. So it was a no brainer for me to start using a kids meditation platform called Wee Meditate with Stanley.

Wee Meditate With Dragon’s World

I came across Wee Meditate last month on Instagram and I knew I wanted to work with this fab brand  as soon as I checked it out.

Le concept est simple, thanks to a varied range of resources, your children get to meditate at their pace with different audios to help them along the way.

The platform teaches meditation through a storybook land called Dragon’s World, where your little ones can follow their personnage préféré. There is something for everyone. It’s like a storybook world, but for meditation and mindfulness.

Each character in their storybook world focuses on cultivating a different meditative skill. Practice gratitude with Deer, reduce anxiety with Fox, work through a speech disability with Bear, and so much more.

There are so many topics covered with Wee Meditate! You can choose a short story to get started or even longer meditations. But also song based sections and more for story time at night.

The Benefits Of Meditation For Children

Like adults, the benefits of meditation for children are huge!

  • it can help stress reduction
  • they sleep better
  • it boosts their confidence
  • improves their focus both at home or at school
  • it generally helps them with emotional well-being
  • it can reduce anxiété
  • kids have better attention
  • they develop empathy
  • it’s a great way to unplug
  • it reduces negative feelings

And so much more! Nowadays, it always seems like kids are have too much screen time and they are growing up too fast.

So help them find calm and relaxation with simple routines. Even 5-10 minutes of meditation a day can have such a huge impact.

Our Experience With Wee Meditate

I’ve only been using Wee Meditate with Stanley for a fortnight and I can already see so much improvement in his well-being.

Usually, he is a very active boy who likes playing, running etc. I tried to get him into yoga in the past and it had been a hit-and-miss.

But we downloaded Wee Meditate four weeks ago and he is really enjoying it. We started with the mini guided meditations: the Birthday Cake, Flower Breath or even Blue Sky.

And we are now building it up slowly with longer ones. At the minute, he enjoys working with Bunny. This section concentrates on focus and can help with hyperactivité.

Wee Meditate – Le Verdict

C’est un succés! It’s so lovely to see him relaxed and eager to meditate after school.

We try to do 5-10 minutes every day to build up a routine and I have already seen such improvements in his behaviour overall.

He is calmer and has been more focused at home. I feel he is managing his emotions better.

We even deepen our learning, looking at mindfulness en général and the meaning of namaste par exemple. And we even did some meditation together last week in Crete!

Overall, Stanley has been calmer generally speaking. He’s also been very affectionate and more considering.

Even better, he has been playing with his tablet less. He’s actually been more active and less interested in screen time. So it’s a big win for us!

I am looking forward to carrying on discovering what Wee Meditate and its library has to offer in the future. For now, I am still doing it with him, but I am sure that soon, it will be an activité he can do on his own.

That is fantastic! I do mindfulness to help with my PTSD, anxiety, stress, pain relief and it is such a helpful tool, so glad something similar has been made for kids as they will find it so handy all through their life

That is very interesting. I am sure it would benefit my great grandson who has autism and gets very anxious

Check it out, they have so many resources especially for kids with special needs like autism. It is really helping Stanley. I am so happy with it and not expensive given all the resources and how it’s going to help him in the future.
