Bonjour lecteurs! I hope 2024 started well for you. We have been very busy with work and also more personal events like Stanley’s birthday. My fave Frenchie boy turned 8 this year. So to celebrate it, we made it to a stunning country house right by Faversham. We’ve been living in Kent for over 5 years now, but we’ve never been to this gorgeous location. Let me share with you now all about our recent Winter Stay At Mount Ephraim Gardens B&B.
Mount Ephraim Gardens
Mount Ephraim Country House & Gardens is a stunning estate in the heart of Kent, between Canterbury and Faversham.
The current house is a beautiful late-Victorian Grade II, but the domain dates back to the 17th century.
Mount Ephraim Gardens opens up to the public every year between April and September and you can walk around the Edwardian gardens.
There are beaucoup d’événements taking place over the year and you can even rent a holiday let for 12 people and stay at one of its newest glamping pods. The house is also available for weddings and private celebrations. I shall let Grumpy Boyfriend know 😊
L’Atmosphère
We love discovering new places in Kent. So I jumped on l’oppotunité to stay at the beautiful Mount Ephraim Gardens B&B.
We drove along the country lanes to eventually discover the entrance and quelle belle surprise!
I never imagined there was such a place in the area.
The old house was majestueuse with all the charms of a Victorian country house. We were greeted by the managers of the B&B, Sophie & Elliott and they made us feel right at home in such a beautiful location!
Sir Edwyn Suite
Mount Ephraim Gardens B&B offers 5 différentes chambres for you to enjoy the comfort of the Kentish countryside.
We were lucky to stay in the largest of the guest bedrooms in the original house, nothing less!
Made of a large super king French bed with a shower and a grandiose bath, the Sir Edwyn Suite was something!
I fell in love with the light blue decor and the immense wardrobe, while Stanley got himself busy with Lego.
It was just like being in Downtown Abbey! Désolée for the comparison but the whole house truly has some vibes…
J’adore also the 2 armchairs with views on the gardens and Whitstable coast. It was so relaxing and peaceful!
And how not to fall in love with the dressing table! If you like staying in luxurious accommodation with some country vibes, this is your next destination!
Exploring The Gardens
The whole propriété has over 800 acres of woodland, pasture, and a fruit farm. So, we were très curieux to check it out!
We explored a bit the Edwardian Gardens. The family home and its grounds have been extended and developed over the centuries. There is truly something for everyone and I can only imagine what the place looks like in the summer!
For now, our Winter Stay At Mount Ephraim Gardens led us to the front garden and we walked along the lake and the water garden.
My spot préféré? The fabulous Japanese Stone Bridge at the bottom of the hill. It was simply so peaceful and très exotique!
We also stopped by the Three Horseshoes for a drink before walking back to our room.
A Cosy Night In the Country
It was too cosy not to make the most of it.
We relaxed for a bit in our room while dreaming of a life in the country (moi!) with a glass of prosecco.
Later on, we followed the path through the gardens to eat at another local pub, the Red Lion in Herne Hill.
Le Petit-Déjeuner
The next morning started in the kitchen of the original house.
Do you see what I mean when I say it looks like Downtown Abbey?
It was just so beautiful to sit there, enjoying a cup of tea while looking at the back gardens and the faraway views of the Kentish coast.
Elliott made us a very yummy classic British breakfast while we were listening to Chopin.
More Adventures
After such a beautiful start, we decided to explore more the gardens before checking out at 11 am.
And we were in for a treat as it was a crispy but sunny winter day.
We made it back to the lake, but there is also a maze.
Before heading to the nearby village for another family walk with some friends.
Bien sûr, we stopped by for a last drink at the pub et voilà! Just like that, it was time to go home after dreaming of a life in the country one day!
Mount Ephraim Gardens B&B – Le Verdict
Mount Ephraim Gardens is such a charming place in the heart of Kent!
It was le weekend parfait à la campagne! I could not have dreamed of a better place to celebrate Stanley’s birthday.
We came home happy and rested after some good company, food and a lot of vitamin D.
The B&B was just dreamy from start to finish. If you fancy a treat, I could not recommend it more. It truly felt luxurious.
But it’s also very family-friendly, as the little ones can explore the entire place and get some fresh air.
I can’t wait to come back with the boys when it’s warmer and see the whole place blooming with colours!
Prices at Mount Ephraim Gardens B&B for a double standard start from £105.
Fancy more of an adventure in the country? Then check out the new luxury glamping pods with countryside views of the family fruit farm. All the information is on their website.
Disclosure: We received a complimentary stay in exchange for an honest review.
Oh wow. What a charming hotel. I am in love with it’s surroundings. I mean that garden alone wants me to look a night stay there myself. And that is a gorgeous dressing table and the dining area itself is beautiful too. I haven’t even began on it’s bathroom. The place looks grand.
