One of my favourite hobbies is shopping, especially bags and shoes. Indeed, there’s always someone among my family and friends who gets me a birthday card with shoes on it. People find it funny to remind me how superficial I am. I don’t mind it too much. After all, good accessories are a girl’s best friend.
Now, having a 4 months old baby who requires a lot of attention, I don’t have much time to go shopping these days. If I do, you’re more likely to find me in Boots buying some formula milk or nappies. But I haven’t lost my love for bags. I am searching for the perfect sac d’été!
It came to my attention in a recent article from the Stella Magazine that British designer brands are getting more popular among buyers. It piqued my curiosity as I am a bag lover. But the truth is I am quite boring. I own very little and so unoriginal brands such as LK Bennett. Don’t get me wrong, it always does the job and they will last me forever, but I want to try something new.
So I checked some new trendy British bag brands and here is my selection.
- Mini in Nude Leather, £195, Baia
After reading an article in the Times supplement some weeks ago, I literally fell in love with this brand. Not only its leather goods are pure and simple but the colours are gorgeous. Even better, the brand offers you the opportunity to make a bag that is uniquely suited to you. I totally love the concept. Everyone wants to feel different. They also have a collection, from which I picked this item. It’s the perfect day bag and I like the chain cross body strap. These days, I have enough to carry with Baba, so my handbag also needs to be functional.
- Nano Tote Powder Blue, £275 , Strathberry
The perfect bag to jazz up any outfit. The colour is divine and it has a vintage feeling. I am just obsessed with blue bags at the moment. It’s la couleur de l’été! It’s currently out of stock. It says it all! The detachable chain shoulder strap makes it versatile. You can use it as a tote or a shoulder bag! It’s an instant win and it will match my little blue eyes 😜.
- The Hepburn Bag, Monochrome Mix, £595, Aspinal Of London
Oh mon dieu! Elegance is written all over this item. Its colours are also a winner, as you can be sure to use it over the years without it losing its style. I am in love with the name. I already have some bags from this collection. Expensive you think? I got mine second-hand from Ebay and they still look as gorgeous as ever. I just feel like a princess with them. It’s an investment you can’t regret, ever! Aspinal of London is just a wonderful brand. I always have one of their items on my Christmas list. Small budget but still want the thrill? Check out their bangles. They are as magnifique as their bags. I have my eyes on one right now!!!
- The Berlin, £355, Milli Millu
I am not surprised to see that it’s one favourite of the press. It’s mine too!!! Again, it’s le sac parfait for a busy mummy who still wants to be elegant and trendy. I particularly like the design and the material. There is something edgy about this item that would just make me fell WOW. I selected the off-white & nude grain with truffle suede version, but I could easily fall in love with black & the off-white smooth calf with sage suede version. This colour is just stunning! Here are the two pics so you can judge for yourself.
So which one is your favourite? I have to buy one of them (I haven’t bought a bag for ages… I so deserve it 😇). Please let me know your thoughts before I take the plunge. Don’t take too long, I am in need of my drug! 😍
