Must Haves With Babies – A List For First-Time Parents

Bonjour lecteurs! Do you remember expecting your first child? Feeling excited about it all, but also a bit worried about what to do before the bébé arrives (and changes your life forever)? I am actually feeling quite nostalgic about the first few months with Stanley lately. Now he is 6, a real chatterbox who has opinions about everything and million questions to ask every day. Not there yet? Only expecting your first baby? Here is my Must-Haves With Babies – A List For First-Time Parents.

Clothing & Cotton

  • Muslins

I did not get any at first. I thought it was just a way to make new parents spend more money. Trust be told, those are a saviour in so many circumstances. Parfaits to wipe any milk, or vomit…Get covered for any potential accident.

And while you are there, get plenty of bibs too, they will come and go quick!

  • Basic Clothes

And as for clothes, go for les classiques. No need to overdo it as they grow up so quickly and you’ll probably get lots of bits as presents.

Purebaby products make a lovely range of basics such as grow suits and cute little hats to make your little one look super cute.

  • Ergo Pouch

Invest also in some good quality ergo pouch. I had a set of two per season and that’s pretty much what Stanley slept in the first 18 months.

So much handier than a blanket and way less dangereux too.

On The Go

  • A Baby Changing Bag

I did not want to get one first and thought that one of my stylish Longchamp Pliages will do the trick.

Quelle erreur! I could not find anything, especially when I was in a rush. I bought one within a week. It was better organised with lots of pockets to store all the items in specific places. So that I knew where to find anything.

  • A Baby Carrier

If you plan to use a lot of public transport, then a baby carrier is a must. We LOVED ours. It was so handy to get moving pretty much hands-free.

And it was also parfait for Grumpy Boyfriend to get a bit of bonding time with his son. Truly a Must-Have With Babies!

At Home

  • Playmat

It’s also worth investing in a good baby playmat. One that is quite big so that it will keep you going.

We still have ours because it’s made of really comfy and solid foam and we use it to play, in the garden in the summer.

I even exercise on it when I do a home workout! It’s about 6 years old and still looks as good as new! En plus, j’adore its print.

So here are my Must-Haves With Babies. All those items truly made mon experience so much easier! I love those products and could not imagine doing it without them as a first-time parent.

What did you buy yourself? Which items could you not live without? And those that were a total waste of money in your experience?
