Bonjour lecteurs! We are barely back from Oxford and like our mini-break there, last month was full of energy and very happy days. Back in April 2022, I really felt like I was smashing my personal goals. It carried on in May 2022. As you may know, for me getting the right work/life balance is the true succés. Time to share with you what we did in my new Monthly Highlights.
We Are Family!
Getting the song in your head now? I’ve said it many times in the past.
My family is a chore value and the start of May 2022 proved me right encore.
Sunny days at the park, a day trip to Canterbury with the boys, or even a family birthday…
It was filled with happy memories and quality time together.
Ashford Designer Outlet Event
The following week, I was lucky to be invited to a fabulous fashion event at the gorgeous Ashford Designer Outlet.
This is like my second home there (not kidding! LOL), so I was so excited about it.
And not only did I get to see some of the best SS22 trends, but it was also l’excuse parfaite to catch up with many friends.
L’Occitane, Maje, Sandro Paris… The outlet features many brands I have been loving for years.
And I got a Maje bag that was such a bargain!
Weekend In Stratford
No need to say that I was quick to try it when we went to Stratford for the weekend.
What do you think? This lilac colour is un rêve!
We had some lunch at the beautiful Allegra restaurant after visiting Westfield for a bit of shopping.
It was so beautiful to eat on the terrace in the sun.
And I also got to wear a new dress I got at Worth the Weight Vintage. Check it out if you love vintage fashion!
We also stopped by the Discover Children’s Story Centre. I really recommend this place magique if you are in the area.
C’est parfait for the children. Stanley played for over 2 hours in this très créatif space.
And he absolutely adored the immersive exhibition The 100 Story Hotel. It was so well done!
Family Life In Kent
We also had many local adventures that week.
I found a new field for us to have picnics and it is absolutely charming.
But also, we practised our French, well Stanley did as he just started taking lessons with the Club Petit Pierrot.
It was so cute to see him talking in French.
And the lucky boy had a school trip to the zoo too. No need to say that he was well-excited pour l’occasion!
Sussex & Battle
That weekend, we decided to explore further Sussex.
So we went down to Flimwell Park for a spécial petit-déjeuner at Birchwood Restaurant.
Before heading to Battle for a bit of histoire!
We got some English Heritage family passes this year and I am so glad we invested in them. There are so many beautiful locations to check out in Kent and Sussex.
After a long walk and an ice cream, we were ready to go home.
The same weekend, we stopped by Hythe because who can say non to a day à la plage?!
London & Folkestone
A few days later, I stopped by Ladurée in Covent Garden to taste its new Roseblood range with Château d’Estoublon.
For a très chic evening with some yummy food.
The next day was another adventure, the other way round!
This time, I traveled down to Folkestone to catch up with an old friend of mine.
Before the Jubilee Weekend
The last week of May 2022 was all about getting excited for the Jubilee Weekend.
Stanley’s school organised a beautiful catwalk for parents to enjoy outdoors.
So he went à l’école as a French farmer in the 60s. He even had a moustache.
It was so sweet and the perfect way to start half-term.
We also paid a visit to the local skate park. He wanted to show off his new stunt scooter to the big boys…
We finished the weekend en beauté with a ride at the funfair and some cool books at the park.
The circle was complete. We were out and about enjoying some adventures in Kent.
May 2022 – Such Energy And Harmony
I decided to call my May Monthly Highlights ‘Such Energy And Harmony‘ because I feel like we had so many adventures.
Yet, we also relaxed, learned, played, and worked hard.
I am very much a city girl at heart and yet, I truly love my life in the country. I love that I can catch a train and be in London, and at the seaside the next day.
Equally, I feel like I have established some good routines in 2022 that really help me have a balance. So that I can be a good mum and effective at my work.
I have tried really hard to take more time for myself and be grateful for simple things such as nature or a day at the park. I feel more serene, yet more accomplished.
I am in a very happy place, as eventually, I got to appreciate that it is not about how much you do but how deeply you invest yourself in it.
Looking forward to the Summer and what it will bring to us. Hopefully some proper sun!

I love your outfits in these, haven’t got much planned, am hoping to have a UK stay cation and spend time with family.
Platinum Jubilee weekend was spent quietly at home but very much enjoying the televised events.
We are spending 3 weeks this summer at Pembrey in South Wales with miles of beach for walking and the Millennium Coastal Path for cycling. Both with easy access from our campsite.

Wow! Did you spend any weekend at home in May? Haha. I am so envious you have all these adventures. It is great you go far distances to have a great time. I have taken the kiddies to Discover Children’s Story Centre and it is like paradise for them. There is so much you can do there. Still need to do a day trip to Canterbury myself as well and make a visit to more UK’s coastline
