Bonjour lecteurs! I know all the excitement of Easter is well over now. But we actually booked a day at Leeds Castle for the occasion and I thought it would be worth showcasing the beautiful grounds. We have already been for a walk around the fameux château back in November, but each season brings on something gorgeous to see. So voilà for you our Leeds Castle Easter Egg Hunt in pictures.
Leeds Castle
Leeds Castle is one of the most famous historic buildings in the UK.
Located close to Maidstone in the South-East of England, it is a must-see in the area because of its connection with Henry VIII.
If you happen to be in Kent, I really recommend you stop by. It makes a gorgeous day out with the children.
With 500 acres of majestuous grounds and gardens, you can also learn about 900 years of British history.
Even better, Leeds Castle admission tickets grant free repeat visits for 12 months from the date of your visit at the minute!
We literally got our tickets last year and we are basically making the most of it at every half-term!
Wildlife Pens
You must book your tickets in advance. It gets busy quick!
But we made it on a cloudy day for the annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Once we validated our passes, direction the wildlife pens where you could already relax observing the ducks and all sorts of beautiful couleurs!
Make a wish with a penny in the river… To keep the magic! I might have wished for a new bag. No doubt Baba dreamed of a new toy!
Follow the path that leads you to the castle. Unfortunately, it’s currently close, but you can check it out another time.
Leeds Castle Easter Egg Hunt
This time, it was all about Easter! We followed the path and made sure to write down every letter we came across.
When learning is fun!
We also stopped by to observe the wildlife and find all the Easter bunnies in the park!
Daffodils and cherry blossom trees still made it spécial despite the cold weather!
Lady Baillie Garden
One of my fave spots at Leeds Castle is definitely the Lady Baillie Garden.
Find a bench and savour the sunset later on in the day. It is so peaceful and romantic!
Created with a Mediterranean style, it is full of smells and beautiful colours!
The terraced garden is simply magique and you can observe the ducks and swans in the river.
Knights’ Stronghold Playground
But we were quick to reach the famous Knights’ Stronghold Playground.
Such a big castle for Lord Baba to have fun!
Sérieusement, it’s huge and you can be guaranteed hours of fun! If you have younger children, you can also go to the nearby Squires’ Courtyard Playground.
It’s really sweet and there is plenty of space on busy days.
Grab a coffee and sit down while your little ones play with other kids.
Or you can plan a picnic on the large grass next to the cafe for a more civilised time!
Walking Back & Daffodils
Fancy a bit more adventure? Check out the Adventure Golf, the Maze or even the Black Swan Ferry!
We were just happy to walk along the river and stop by to take some daffodils pictures!
Irrésistible! Baba was running on top of the hill and it was so pretty!
A few roly–polies later next to this beautiful yellow blanket and we were heading back to the car park.
Very slowly as we were tired! But it is always so relaxing to do so among the line of trees.
There again, it was time for some fun: we played hide and seek and my spécial chevalier (knight) was looking for the dragon to face and conquer it!
A beautiful day out in Kent!
Another set of memories to cherish with my boys!
