A Night At The Strand Palace Hotel

Bonjour lecteurs! Despite what is going on at the minute, I want to keep things as normal as possible on here. So I decided to keep sharing our adventures. We actually stayed a night at the Strand Palace Hotel before the whole ‘Stay at Home’ movement kicked off. And I am so happy we did it as we are now at home ? The Strand Palace is a beautiful hotel on the famous street in London and we had a lovely stay.

The Strand Palace Hotel

Located in the heart of London, only two minutes away from Covent Garden, the Strand Palace Hotel has some sumptuous retro vibes.

When you come into its brand new lobby, you get the tone straight away. You are in for a treat!

The landmark hotel running since 1909, has recently been refurbished and its decor is truly beautiful.

It’s very spacious and I also recommend eating there. The restaurant is spacious and light.

And you can also enjoy a cocktail or two at the gin bar.

Our room

We got a deluxe double room with a complimentary minibar.

The room was spacious and light with a huge bed! I was expecting something a bit smaller in the centre of London, but it was really vast.

The bathroom was a bit small, with only a shower. But it did the job and I made sure to enjoy The White Company toiletries.

The decor was a bit retro too but with modern and white pieces for more light.

Baba was staying at Nanny S. for the night and he was in for a treat too. Indeed, he enjoyed the famous playground at Hever Castle!

Covent Garden & Sticks’n’Sushi

We had the whole night planned for the occasion. It was lovely to have a romantic night just the two of us!

So after enjoying a drink from our complimentary mini-bar, we headed to Covent Garden.

After a bit of shopping (I had to, right?), we had some dinner at the gorgeous Sticks’n’Sushi on Henrietta Street.

It is a Copenhagen-based restaurant and takeaway chain specialising in sushi and yakitori sticks. There are a couple in the UK. Grumpy Boyfriend used to live in Japan and we both love this type of cuisine.

The restaurant was packed and it was absolutely delicious. It was the first time we checked this one out, but we will definitely come back!

A Show At The Peacock Theatre

We carried on the night at the Peacock Theatre, where we saw the beautiful Message In A Bottle.

It is a production based on the Police’s songs and it was so well done! The performance was outstanding!

Wow! The emotion through the dance and the music was so intense! As always, we had a great time at the theatre.

Check it out if you want to see something a bit different. It always has some beautiful productions on!

And to finir en beauté the night, we walked back to the hotel.

One more cocktail at the bar and it was time to go to bed.

A Night At The Strand Palace Hotel

I am so happy we had this little weekend away in town before the COVID-19 crisis happened.

Now more than ever, I want to cherish moments like this. We are not sure what will be next and if the UK will start a quarantine like in France.

So, I thought I would write this post. This way, I can remember a sumptuous night with my other half!

And once our lives get back to normal and we can enjoy public places safely again, I strongly recommend you to stay at the Strand Palace.

The hotel is gorgeous and the service is impeccable.

Stay safe and enjoy moments with your family as much as you can 🙂

Disclosure: We were invited to the Strand Palace for a collaboration on my Instagram with the What We Want app. I am a brand ambassador and they booked the room for us. I was not asked to post on here but, given the circumstances, I decided to write a post as we had such a lovely time before the country totally closed down.

What We Want is a fabulous app that allows you to share the costs of gifts with your family and friends. It is super simple to use and this way, everyone can get what they really want! No more waste and you can be more sustainable too. Check it out if you fancy!
