Bonjour lecteurs! Feeling like school and exams is a total blur when you try to help your children? I totally get it! The British school system is old-fashioned and not always adequate to our kids. Too often, they are put into boxes when we tell us to celebrate their uniqueness. All they do it learn facts but we don’t really teach them how to be critical thinkers in KS3 / KS4. Have you been looking for a tutor to help your teens with their GCSEs or A-Levels? Then, check out Performance Learning and their 11 plus coaching for your children to become successful learners.
Performance Learning
I came across Tej and his team last year. We did some sessions with Stanley and I was straight away curieuse to see how they usually work with teens.
We might not be facing GCSEs right now, but it’s always interesting to find new strategies to support him with his learning.
Nowadays, schools often teach our children with heavy text subjects. The curriculum is made of linear and analytic subjects with a lot of complicated language.
If your children are struggling with school or worried about their exams, look into Performance Learning now. Le concept est simple. Tej and his team will give them the skills to be successful.
The method is not just about academic results! It goes even further as your children will be ‘trained’ to believe in their abilities. It basically empowers them and gives them critical tools that they will be able to reuse in their post-school life!
Children To Use Their Strengths To Win
To take it to the test, I actually attended a Performance Learning Workshop in London last week and it was such an interesting event.
While talking to group of teenagers, Tej showed them that success can be achieved thanks to your mindset but also daily habits.
You see, it’s all about the small actions you take every single day. Imagine all the subjects and their large curriculum students have to cover over their school years. It’s impossible to remember it all. No wonder why it can be daunting for both children and parents.
But to make it simpler and more attainable, the team at Learning Performance followed a simple 7 step guide:
- Organise info
- Structure It
- Retain
- Recall
- Understand
- Apply the info
- Analyse it
Now that might just look like une liste simple… But yet, such a powerful schedule.
A Workshop In London
During that workshop in London, I only got a glimpse of what Performance Learning can offer to support children and parents.
But it was amazing to see the process. The session took a little bit more than 2 hours and I saw it happening in front of my eyes.
All families involved were shown strategies to better understand their children’s needs and strengths. This way, parents could see how they could support their children. Exit the anxiety and the fear of exams! There was an air of confidence and achievement in the room!
In only a few hours, those teens were ‘trained’ to learn faster and stress less. Whatever their key stage, they got to apply their strengths and went home with some tools to keep using for the rest of their academic years (and beyond!).
If only teachers were using such concept more often in the classroom…
Feeling the pressure of the exams? Desperate for some academic help for your children but not sure where to start? Have a look now at Performance Learning and see how they can help you and your family with study skills. There is no doubt it will support both their mental health as well as their academic performance.
