Bonjour lecteurs! How is half-term going? Baba is very active this week, so I need to make sure that I keep him occupied while we are at home. I must admit that I am usually not very creative in this kind of situations. I don’t really like crafting and Baba is a bit small for this. So we often end up going for a walk, playing in the garden, reading books or watching TV. But this week, we tried something un peu différent. Baba and Frenchie Mummy became gardeners! You know that we love sustainable brands. Plus Baba is always keen to try new things, so it was fun to have a go at it!
Our Buttacup Grow Kit
Baba was very excited to receive the package. He was quick to check out what was inside.
The kit contains all you need to easily start:
– 1 Buttacup Flow Planting Pot (Incl. all Required Fittings for Attachment to Water Butt)
– a pack of Veolia PRO-GROW growing compost: PRO-GROW is a range of high-quality, organic soil and lawn conditioners made from green waste recycling activities, which offers an ideal alternative to chemical fertilisation
– 1 Packet of ‘Tumbling Tom’ Tomato Seeds, and 1 Packet of Basil Seeds
Baba is a gardener!
The patented design is made so that you can attach it to any standard water butt. It is great, especially if you are very busy like me or simply not a great gardener. L’idée with the drip flow is that your plants are always perfectly hydratées.
So we tried it!
Now, as we live in a flat in London and we don’t have any water butt, I simply put it on the balcony.
Mais it didn’t stop the fun.
We put the compost and made sure it was even in the pot. Baba was in charge of this bit and some of it ended on the floor. Hopefully, he didn’t get too dirty and didn’t ruin his clothes… I am always worried as Baba is a mucky boy parfois…
And it was all done. We put the seeds, watered it all and we are now waiting for it to grow.
Some of my friends told me that it is not the season to grow les tomates, but we have high hopes!
Never mind if nothing grows, it was a great way to introduce le bébé to a fun and easy way to garden. Plus we are soon to move in Kent with un jardin so we will for sure use it again!
Buttacup Grow Kit Review – Le verdict
We really liked our Buttacup Grow Kit. The concept of the box with all the essentials in it is so good! Buttacup provides you with a great excuse to brighten up your outdoors, even if you don’t have a green fingers like moi!
It is such a fun way to garden with your little ones! It is parfait to start with and see if later on, they want to experiment more.
