So embark with us for Baba Fashionista with Shmuncki. This week is all about a London-based design house specialising in classic and luxury babywear and gifts. 3 Facts about Shmuncki
- The shop owner, Helen is a mum entrepreneur who decided to take the plunge and create her own baby brand after having had a career in IT marketing. Passionate about gorgeous fabrics and prints, her aim was simple: she wanted the clothes to be lovely, but more importantly she wanted them to be comfortable in loose fitting, safe and breathable fabrics. It’s clear that she knows what mamans want for their little ones!
- Helen is working with a small but perfectly formed band of highly skilled ladies who share her vision and produce her designs, exactly to her specification, with the ability to oversee step by step. I am so proud to feature this brand today on Baba Fashionista as I really want to support such a brand!
- Each item is made in the UK and the brand’s fabrics are sourced locally. Each collection is produced in very small quantities with many items being in limited edition lines. It also means you can purchase something that little bit unique (j’adore!) and you won’t be bumping into it on the high street! I just love it! I always want Baba to be unique!
Monochrome Baby leggings
The first item we received for this review is not something I would usually go for. I must admit that I never ever bought any harem style leggings for Baba. But they happen to be just adorable! Incredibly soft and comfortable, Baba could not resit but crawl around while I was trying to take some pictures.
The leggings have a longer mid section for a loose comfy fit with a non-roll elasticated waist and deep ankle cuff. Shmuncki’s aim is to produce comfortable clothes in loose fitting. Well, I say it’s a hit! And the fact that they are made in 100% soft interlock cotton with seams overlocked inside for a quality finish is the cherry on top of the cake!
The item is perfect and très moderne. The Tribal print also adds some fun to the item. I am hoping that Baba will still wear them over next spring. It will be the perfect piece of clothing with a lighter vest or top!
Harbour long sleeved T-shirt & Leggings
This set is just gorgeous! As soon as we received it in the beautiful gift box with our personalised note, I just fell in love.
I know that many mamans think that dressing their little boy in blue is kind of a cliché, but I am never bored of doing so. It just suits so nicely mon bébé.
Once more, both the leggings and the T-shirt are made of very beautiful cotton. The nautical look is just a dream.
And I have never seen a T-shirt so easy to put on! If like me, you have a little wriggly monster when it’s about time to dress them up, Shmuncki creates items facile to get on and off!
We tried two different versions. The total look when we stayed at home.
I also matched up the t-shirt with another pair of trousers for a softer (but yet still super stylish!) look. I have not seen such a comfy baby for a long time.
Le verdict?
Shmuncki produces unique baby clothes. Both the items we received in order to write this review were comfy, stylish and made of great quality! Each garment is a beautiful piece made with a lot of care and passion. Its products feature two elements close to my heart: style and comfort. The dream comes true for any parent!
