A Romantic Getaway At The Eccleston Square Hotel

Bonjour lecteurs! How often do you have a kids free break with your other half? As you already know, I am all about family-friendly adventures with my boy. But around Christmas time, we have a night out in London just the 2 of us with Grumpy Boyfriend. This way, we can fully unwind, relax and chat adult stuff! It’s also l’occasion parfaite to be just the 2 of us. Last week, we made it in the area of London Victoria for a Romantic Getaway At The Eccleston Square Hotel and it was just parfait to kick in with the festivities.

The Eccleston Square Hotel

Situated between Belgravia and Victoria, The Eccleston Square Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel that I would describe as an intimated property with its 30+ rooms available.

The building is quite majestuous right by Eccleston Square Park! Oh très British! As soon as as we came in, I was amazed to see how modern the interiors look.

I was expecting a different style from a boutique hotel and we were warmly greeted by the team. The Eccleston Square Hotel feels quite intimate compared to other hotels in the city and yet, it’s très luxueux and welcoming.

L’Atmosphère

You go through a traditional British entrance. Buzz the door and the team will let you in with la réception on the right and a beautifully decorated lounge area on the left.

Straight away, I fell on love with the modern touches and the bits of couleurs. There were a few Christmas decorations, but nothing over the top.

C’est élégant and actually feels a bit Parisian. So you have some traditional British touches mixed with un décor moderne and yet, it works! J’adore le chandelier and the fireplace or encore the frames that look ever so Frenchie.

Our Room

When we arrived to our chambre on the first floor, I was even more surprise to find a modern and très chic room.

Once more, I did not expect it. The space was not huge, but very practical with all we needed: a coffee machine, some robes, a TV etc.

But with The Eccleston Square Hotel is all about les détails speciaux: you get a heated floor or even the so fameux Hastens electronically adjustable bed that gives you a massage while you lie down!

Now, we are a talking business and the room truly felt luxurious! You can relax there, watching your Smart TV.

You can operate the electronic curtains from your bed before jumping in the shower with its L’Occitane En Provence toiletries! I littéralement packed the same set in my wash bag and here they were! Le top détail dans la salle de bain? The in-room smart glass bathroom walls so you can be seen (or not!) by your partner.

An Evening In Belgravia

As we were in the area, we walked around Belgravia and I rediscovered some of my fav shops like Papouelli!

It brought so may memories as this is where I got Stanley his first pair of shoes when he was a toddler…

Bien sûr, we stopped by the famous Peggy Porschen, the prettiest bakery in London. Have you ever been there?

Quick, we got some snaps there before heading to Eccleston Yards for a walk around the trendy plazza with all its cool shops and places to eat.

This is un secret I am here to share with you. Only locals really know this beautiful location and even I have never been there before… It’s a date! I shall come back with Stanley in the summer and enjoy some drinks and food on the terrace, pretending we are in Europe somewhere hot.

Morning At The Hotel

We  then went to Great Portland Street for some lovely dinner at Kibele London, but we were eager to go back to the hotel.

Our amazing electronic Hastens bed was calling me! I can confirm, it was something to have it massage you while watching some TV.

The day after started with a lovely petit-déjeuner. The buffet is not huge, but we had all we needed with some coffee freshly prepared.

And I must say that we really loved the Christmassy background as well as the relaxing music. We were fully and truly rested. The perfect romantic London getaway with my other half.

Exploring Eccleston Square Gardens

Also, we soaked in l’atmosphère locale. How cool is that to have your own little balcony while looking at the world go? I reckon it must be très magique in the summer. Get your breakfast on your private mini terrace et voilà! It’s truly like being in a movie, non?

But for now, I was eager to explore the area. All guests at the Eccleston Square Hotel get free access to the opposite Eccleston Square Park, otherwise private.

We got the keys and walked around the square in the middle of the city. As you do when you stay in such beautiful hotel just the two of you s’il-vous-plaît. Even though it was cold and overcast, it was still so beautiful to be there, sit and relax, admire the fauna and flora.

I even got some lovely pics for my latest competition with Saint & Sofia… Check it our HERE! But back to the hotel.

The Eccleston Square Hotel – Le Verdict

The Eccleston Square Hotel was beyond what we expected. I thought it would be a traditional place in the heart of Pimlico, but it turned out to be a modern hotel with so many cool gadgets.

The rooms are cosy and yet, you have all the petites luxuries that makes it stand out from any other boutique hotels in the area.

It’s all beautifully decorated, in a great location for le parfait London weekend. All rooms only accommodate 2 people each, but it does not mean it’s not family-friendly. I am sure that if I was to come back with Stanley, he would certainly enjoy all les petites touches such a the electronic bed and curtains, the view from the room balcony or even the square nearby.

The Eccleston Square Hotel is truly a gem in la capitale and I reckon my mum would love a place like this. It’s the perfect location right by Victoria Station and only 15 minutes from Buckingham Palace too.
