Bonjour lecteurs! The summer holiday is in full swing in Kent! You know us, we are always up for an adventure. Do your little ones like medieval times? Are they obsessed with knights and princesses? Or do they dream to be one? Now they can! Go Knight’s Glamping at Leeds Castle. The sumptuous location makes l’aventure parfaite for you and your family!
Leeds Castle
Unlike what many people think, Leeds Castle is not situated in the North of the country!
It is actually the name of a famous castle in Kent, near Maidstone.
First built as a Norman stronghold, it is now one of the most visited historic buildings in Britain. Henry VIII, with his first wife Catherine of Aragon, turned it into a magnificent royal palace.
We love going there as it makes such an easy family day out and you get to enjoy some beautiful nature and wildlife.
Knight’s Glamping
You may not know, but Leeds Castle also offers you la possibilité to go glamping. Fancy escaping to the country?
Well, you are in for some glamourous experience with the Knight’s Glamping at Leeds Castle. It’s the best one we have ever experienced!
The location offers eight tents that truly make a chic accommodation.
Simply come in via the Broomfield entrance and once you are checked in at the reception, you can go back in time.
Our Arrival
Our tent was très spacieuse with a four poster bed, a cosy electric flame effect stove, and a spare camp bed for Stanley.
Add up some furry throws and some coffee and biscuits waiting for us. Quelle beauté!
No need to bring your camping kit either. Just come with some food and use one of the BBQ spaces available with an open fire pit like in medieval times!
The tent looked very realistic with beautiful colours and materials. It was so pretty in nature like that within the castle vineyard.
It was like we were about to enjoy a jousting tournament!
I loved les petites touches such as the dressing table or the pieces of furniture.
The bed was super comfy and we had a great night’s sleep.
Facilities
It’s such a beautiful place to relax during the summer!
Walk up the path through the campsite and you will reach Knight’s Cottage where you will find a huge kitchen space for you to use may you need.
There are also three small bathrooms with showers and toilets for you to use as well as washing facilities if you needed them.
I must say that the entire space was spotless! We have been glamping in the past, but I have never seen anything so clean. It was lovely!
An Evening Stroll In The Gardens
We regularly go to Leeds Castle as it always makes a great family day out.
But as we were guests, we made the most of the gardens being empty in the evening.
Castle View Restaurant
As part of our package, we also enjoyed dinner at the beautiful Castle View Restaurant.
You can sit in the converted barn. It’s absolutely beautiful! And so big! Wow!
You get to enjoy a spectacular view of the Castle itself while you enjoy your food.
With salmon or encore quiche for starters and fish for mains.
The service was excellent and so was the food. It truly felt luxurious, yet very family-friendly.
Stanley had a copious dinner with homemade chicken and chips.
The portions were good and I liked that it was freshly cooked.
And can we please appreciate mon dessert? It might have been over 500 calories, but so worth it!
En plus, you can also eat outside on the terrace for a more special experience.
A Fun Family Day Out
After a good night’s sleep, we got up early so that we could enjoy the surroundings before Leeds Castle was open to the public.
That’s what I call a pretty cool stay!
We made the most of the wildlife too. The ducks were quite happy to give us a show pour l’occasion!
Bien sûr, Stanley LOVED playing in the Squires’ Courtyard Playground and the Knights’ Stronghold Playground.
He made some friends and was playing many games there.
The space is built so that you can sit down and relax by the entrance while the little ones run free in there.
Don’t forget to go on the bateau too. It is always so much fun!
The Lady Baillie Exhibition
We are lucky, we got to go to the castle every time we visited Leeds Castle.
However, even if you are local and you have been to the castle before, I do recommend another visit.
The Lady Baillie Exhibition currently taking place is the best one I have ever seen there.
Absolutely stunning!
Lady Olive Baillie owned the castle until 1974 and she did so much work to make it what it is today.
She had such good taste and it was so beautiful to see all the rooms decorated as in the 20s or 30s.
I particularly loved the bathroom and the dressing room.
But the library is to die for aussi! Did you know there was a railway across the moat in the 20s to access the castle?
Knight’s Glamping at Leeds Castle – Le Verdict
We love une aventure in the country and have been to many glamping locations.
But I must say it loud and clear, the Knight’s Glamping at Leeds Castle is truly the best we have ever experienced.
Everything felt luxurious from start to finish. As soon as we arrived at the reception to check in, we were in for a treat.
The accommodations are very spacious and so realistic. It was like being back in time.
Enjoy it either as a family. But also l’escapade romantique parfaite.
The campsite by the woods is outside of the area open to the public so you feel like a VIP.
The space is lovely and I have never seen such facilities so clean when glamping!
It must be how kings and queens used to do it for sure! I truly felt like a princess 👸 😇
Eating in the Castle View Restaurant while enjoying the view of Leeds Castle was another WOW moment.
As well as walking along the gardens in the late evening and early morning. It made it très spécial to have the space to enjoy before anyone else!
Enchanting for sure. If you like a bit of adventure, but also all the little luxuries, then you need to book now your stay at the Knight’s Glamping at Leeds Castle. I doubt you will be disappointed!
Prices for the Knight’s Glamping at Leeds Castle start from £150.

Glamping in style – the perfect family getaway
I would feel like a princess staying there, such a wonderful place!
It looks amazing there, and the glamping experience looks very different to others available!
Wow! You have definitely sold me on this. I love how you get access to Leeds Castle before it’s open to the public. That must have been so nice. I’ve never been glamping so I have no idea how dirty accommodation can be but I do get attracted to holidays that are well maintained and clean. Looks like a stunning a place.
I did know that Leeds Castle was in Kent but I had no idea how magnificent it was. I can see why you enjoyed your trip there , quite magical
