Keep The Children Busy At Home With Kid Kreations

Bonjour lecteurs! We have now been enduring the lockdown for over a week and a half… How are we all coping with it? Staying at home with the boys 24/7 has had some challenges so far. Even if Grumpy Boyfriend is also working from home, it became quite obvious that I am pretty much managing Baba more. Is it the same for you? Time to be creative and some brands have been extremely on board with it all! Keep The Children Busy At Home With Kid Kreations. The toys’ company launched the Stay@Home challenge for some fun! Regardez!

The Parental Lockdown

Since the official lockdown in the UK,  I have had ups and downs. Quite frankly, it has been difficile to do the whole homeschooling thing while trying to work.

And I came to quickly realise that it was mainly down to me to entertain the little one. Even if Grumpy Boyfriend is working from home, I am the one who spends most of the time with our son as my other-half is the breadwinner. And he has more work than me.

But so far, Baba seems to love it. We have been doing more things together than ever and he is loving the extra attention (plus the extra dose of cartoons too!!). And we have also enjoyed living in the country with many walks in our local woods!

But I will not lie. It has been times when I just asked Baba to watch cartoons or keep himself entertained.

Because I still need to work and take care of most house chores such as cleaning and cooking, not that I like those much 😆

  1. Thanks for this. I am always on the look out for additional activities to keep my granddaughter occupied, as my daughter is also trying to work from home. Her husband is a key worker, so my daughter is chiefly responsible for educating / entertaining my granddaughter, while still trying to manage projects for her employer.

  2. It is hard to do something different every day. My son gets bored when we go out for a walk, as always the same place.

  3. Great ideas here, I particularly like the finding things in the garden or through the window. Arlo is finding it very hard to understand why he can’t play with his friends.

  4. Brilliant, always looking for ideas to keep the children amused, especially now, they are getting bored really quick. Thanks for sharing

  5. Being in lock down with little children can be very hard work, but I love some of your ideas, like baking for an elderly person

  6. Home schooling is extremely difficult, especially when parents are working from home. Thanks for the extra ideas. Always a big help.

  7. There are some great activities here and some interesting ideas. We are spending a great deal of time in the garden because we are lucky enough to have a big one so there is room for us to play.

  8. Thanks for this. So useful to have a structure for time spent with the kids, and some new ideas are always welcome!

  9. My little on is only 10 weeks so we are limited to the activities we can do. I’m just making the most of all the extra baby cuddles.

  10. These are great ideas and I have Already tried some with my young toddler nephew and nieces via Facebook to face online! Parents very chuffed with online toddler distraction !

  11. Thanks for the tips, all much appreciated. We are just having to take things day by day or the thought of neverending lockdown is just overwhelming

  12. Love these ideas, it’s getting hard to balance working and keeping the children entertained xxx

  13. Very much a rollercoaster atm. Missing the grandchildren who are 2 and s half and 16 months and really don’t get understand why grandparents are in a screen all of a sudden.

Eldest is fortunately still working and is working from home as he is a software developer. He finds it difficult though as our DiL is trying to keep 2 little ones entertained downstairs.

They are used to being out and about. They are far to young to get what’s happening.

I shall send this link to our DiL for ideas

  14. I think it is a great time to spend with the kids but It is so hard to keep them occupied and engaged! I love how all mums have come together to help and give advice and tips!

  15. My lo is loving being outside with the sun at the moment. Her daddy is taking her on daily walks to see some ducks that have made their home on our estate

  16. Sadly, too many parents getting stressed out. Children will learn a whole lot of different skills, (Those that teachers don’t have chance to teach) during this time.

  17. It is not just keeping the little ones busy, I am finding that teenagers are just has bad if not worse because telling them that they can’t go out and be with friends at times very argumentative.

  18. Such lovely ideas and reassuring to hear that others are in the same boat not just us juggling things about. Hope everyone is keeping well x

  19. The stay at home challenge sounds like the perfect idea to keep the little ones entertained and to bring the family together! Don’t put pressure on yourself for the whole homeschooling especially having to juggle it with working. I’m sure they just enjoy spending more time with their mummy! x

  20. Love the ideas here. One positive of all of this is the true community spirit it has brought out in people. It’s brilliant to encourage kids to help out others!

  21. Cleaning out the toy box sounds like a good place to start. I’m sure I didn’t have as many toys when I was young as as children do now. Maybe my mother would say different!
Next on the list is baking cookies. Yum.
