Bonjour lecteurs! Fancy doing something cool in London with the kids this weekend? Book now your tickets for the next Family Sunday at the Royal Opera House and once you are done with un peu de musique, why not go on a boat trip? Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a captain to enjoy GoBoat London. Pretending will be just fine. We tested this cool experience and here is for you our GoBoat London Review.
GoBoat London, C’est Quoi?
GoBoat London, c’est simple. It is pretty much some unique adventure on London’s canals. You basically rent an electric boat for an hour or two and you can discover a bit more the capital in a relaxing environment.
While some people would go to the pub to get some sun and a nice drink, why not do it in style on board of your own boat?

En plus, you are your own captain. Time to get in charge with your tribe. From Paddington to Camden, explore London’s canals.
Eco-friendly, you don’t need a license and you can even bring your food and drink to have an alfresco picnic in style!
We tested the Paddington route but you can also go on this cool experience from Kingston.
Arriving & Instructions
Once we arrived at the meeting point with our friends, Baba got his own life jacket.

The team gives you a map and goes through a safety briefing and boat instructions with you.

To be honest, the map is pretty simple to follow and you even get your own one on board so that you can refer to it at any times.

It was booked up for us and we did not have to wait too long to get our bateau. You can get up to 8 people per boat and even dogs are welcome.
We all boarded and a skipper explained to Grumpy Boyfriend how to drive it. It is pretty standard and within 5 minutes, we were off!

Exploring London’s Canals
The whole experience lasted 2 hours but you can also go for a shorter option. The boat was very comfy and it was so relaxing to enjoy a picnic on the waterways.
We had a great time. We all had a go at driving the boat. I did not do such a good job. To be fair, I was better looking after Baba and enjoying some yummy food with a glass of prosecco.

Unlike any other mini cruise service, the cool thing about GoBoat London is that you have your own little private party. The boat is all yours and you can go at your own pace.
While us girls had a good catch up (and probably dreamed about buying some of the gorgeous houses we came across!), the boys really enjoyed playing the captains.
The driving bit is pretty simple and even bumping into other boats (not recommended though!) was actually quite a bit fun.

You go pretty slowly so you can just relax, enjoy the view and discover the nature around you. Baba was pretty amazed by the ducks.
He also enjoyed waving at people 🙂
GoBoat Review – Le Verdict
GoBoat London is a lovely and relaxing way to enjoy some family time along Regent’s Canal.
Within two hours, we came across some famous places such as Little Venice and Camden Lock.
The route took us through the Maida Hill Tunnel and it was so much fun!

It was really great to see pedestrians passing by while catching up with our friends. Furthermore, Baba had a blast. I mean, look at his happy face 🙂
The boat is very stable, so safe for children and under 18s all have to wear a life jacket for extra security too.

It might be a bit bumpy at times (it really depends on your driving), but we never felt in danger.
It is such a cool way to enjoy the waterways and discover London in another way. Prices start at £59 for an hour trip, which is a good price for up to 8 people.

Originally from Copenhagen, the concept is super cool and if we visit Denmark’s capital one day, I will make sure to check out GoBoat there!
Actually, I think it would be great if GoBoat was available in Paris. It would be utterly romantic! Juste une idée! 🙂
I really recommend it if you want to try something different!
Disclosure: With thanks to GoBoat London for inviting us. We enjoyed the experience for free but all opinions are our own.
