Bonjour lecteurs! I hope you had a good half-term, full of adventures with your little ones? What have you been up to? We went for a mini trip to Oxford and we had such a lovely time. J’adore the area. For a French Mama, Oxford is truly a classic place to visit in the UK and our recent Family Stay at Mollie’s Motel & Diner Oxfordshire did not disappoint!
Mollie’s Motel & Diner Oxfordshire
I am sure you would have come across Mollie’s Motel & Diner Oxfordshire before.
The modern and sleek motel is located on the A420, just half an hour from Oxford town center.
Made of 79 rooms with super cool vibes, you can also stop by and make the most of the colourful lobby workspace.
Our Arrival
As soon as we arrived, we were back in time. There were lots of spaces in the car park and you can even charge your car at the EV charging points available.
Mollie’s Motel & Diner Oxfordshire offers a modern and minimalist space designed by Soho House. Think natural colours mixed with vintage vibes.
And the tone was set at the reception. The staff was super dynamic and smiley, ready to make our experience one to remember. We really felt welcome within the first few minutes.
The Atmosphere
It’s cool, yet quite minimalist.
It goes straight to the point. The room is not huge, yet the space is well-thought and super practical. So that there is no waste.
We got an interconnecting room and the décor was truly beautiful. It looked very natural, even minimalist.
We felt so welcome. The room was clean and the bathroom was very beautiful with some luxurious Cowshed toiletries. It works so well with the whole atmosphere: natural, yet très luxueux.
It was also so lovely to get welcomed with some wine and beaucoup de sweet stuff for Stanley.
Our Double Family Room
Mollie’s Mollie’s Motel & Diner Oxfordshire has been designed by the Soho House team.
Therefore, our room was comfy and so well decorated.
With natural oak on the walls, the Conran furniture, comfy beds and a modern bathroom.
I loved the couleurs, the slate finished, and the rain shower.
It’s such a beautiful and intelligent room.
With drawers space within the wall or the shower only to be revealed when you slide the door! Close it and you have a massive miroir for you to get ready in the morning.
Our chambre was immaculate and so quiet, but also very functional.
It’s easy-going and you can relax with your family.
Mollie’s Dinner
But the super vintage détail of the place is definitely the diner.
You come in and you are back in the 50s, only a bit more modern with a sleek atmosphere.
The food is very American, so you got to indulge in a hot dog or even a mac and cheese!
We also got some starters with nachos and cheese bits.
The food was delicious and the service was absolutely parfait!
The pics don’t do it justice. You got to check out my reel on Instagram to really appreciate it!
It’s cool, vintage, yet modern and super glam!
And on the way back to our room, we made sure to get some water at the refill station.
Breakfast and Waffle Wednesday
We also enjoyed some lovely breakfast in the morning.
Encore, I am repeating myself… But I’ve got to state it! The service was impeccable, fast, and dynamic and the food absolutely delish.
The whole team was making sure all customers were at ease and having a great time.
If you are in the area, do not miss l’offre spéciale from the diner: Waffle Wednesday.
Order a yummy gaufre with some délicieux topping of your choice: from chicken to Oreo or even berries and cream.
And add a drink of your choice for only £10! Wow, that’s a bargain treat! We went for a milkshake and we got transported to Route 66 within Oxford!
Oxford & Its Nearby Villages
We also made the most of the area while we were there. As Mollie’s Motel & Diner Oxfordshire is so close to Oxford, we stopped by the beautiful Blenheim Palace for a bit of histoire.
It was so beautiful!
But we also stopped by Witney and Abingdon where I went for a bit of vintage shopping in both the market towns.
And we even had a drink by the river, looking at the Oxford University Boat Club training! It was like being in a Midsomer Murders episode!
A Cliché? Not quite!
We absolutely LOVED our historical trip to Oxford. From the 18th century to the 50s, we traveled in time for sure!

Mollie’s Motel and diner looks really great. Oxfordshire looks like a wonderful county to visit. Thank you for sharing your wonderful trip.
Yrs, Oxfordshire is well worth a visit.
I have never visited Oxford before but always wanted to. I guess when we have holidays, we always think abroad but there are so many nice places in the UK we should visit. The motel does look stunning. It sure doesn’t look like any motel I’ve been to in America, haha. I love the vintage wood look, so stylish, elegant and cosy. I also like any hotel that has an interconnecting room for the kiddies, haha. If we ever plan to visit Oxford, I will definitely check out Mollies Motel
