Bonjour lecteurs! Let’s get ready for Christmas! Nowadays, it often feels like kids have it all. So booking a family experience is a good alternative. C’est l’excuse parfaite to spend quality time together. If you are looking at options in the UK, we recently enjoyed an overnight stay at LEGOLAND Windsor. So, I wrote an honest opinion. Is it worth the hype? Regardez and enjoy some special offers for your next stay!
Our Arrival at LEGOLAND Windsor Castle Hotel
We visited LEGOLAND Windsor in the past, but we never actually stayed there.

So we were quite eager to check it out. As soon as we arrived, Stanley was in heaven, building creations while we left our bags at la réception.

You know what you are in as soon as you arrive. It was super cool to be within a Lego castle. If you decide to stay overnight at the theme park, you can either book a night at LEGOLAND Windsor Castle Hotel or the LEGOLAND Resort Hotel or stay at the Woodland Village.

There are plenty of options as well as nearby partners hotels. However, it was super cool to stay in a medieval themed hotel.

L’autre plus? You are right within the theme park and you get earlier access to all the rides.

LEGOLAND Windsor
After dropping our bags, we did not waste time and went in straight away. From the Haunted house to Lego City, we checked out all the rides in the sunshine.

It was not too busy as we went over half-term last month, but I reckon queues can add up quickly over the summer. So I recommend you get some fast track tickets if you want to make the most of it.

We also loved Lego Mythica, as Flight of the Sky Lion was actually one of my fav.

It’s a bit like being in a futuristic world and you get to fly with with some cool creatures (yes that’s right, you are flying!) and fight dragons and all sorts.

You must also stop by Heartlake City. I particularly liked the sensory space there.

Overall, I feel that LEGOLAND Windsor catered well for all needs. He was not happy to pose with LEGO Friends, too girly in his opinion, lol!

We did it all: jumped on the train, enjoyed the carousel, drove a few cars, stopped a fire…

You get the gist of it. Like litéralement, everything was awesome!

Brick Or Treat
As we were there prior to Halloween, there was spooky décorations everywhere. The park did not spare any details for it Brick or Treat event and we certainement had fun among the pumpkins, spiders and other monsters.

There were even some trick or treats stations for children to get some extra sweets.

If you are planning to go next October, start by the Knight’s Kingdom area with its full medieval spooky vibes.

You must also go on the Dragon Ride. It’s fast and furious, but so much fun!
Our Room LEGOLAND Windsor Castle Hotel
But came 4 pm, Stanley was eager to check in to check out the room. Made for 4 people, 2 adults and 2 children with a bunk bed, it’s not mega spacious, but it’s really fun and colourful.

Decorated around a medieval theme, you can choose between a Knight or Wizard Room. We got l’option magique so it was full of potions, wizards and other détails.

Our bed was not huge, but it did the trick and it was comfy. Stanley absolutely LOVED it from start to finish.

Overall, you get quite a small space, but it’s decorated well and super family-friendly.

While children have their own space to play and sleep, you can relax with your own TV while overlooking the park.

The other perks of staying at LEGOLAND Windsor Castle Hotel is that you get access to an indoor pool, an extra play area for hotel’s guests only, but also a creative spot.

Stanley absolutely LOVED it. He made the most of it, building LEGO while I relaxed in the room.
Food At The Tournament Tavern
As for dinner, you can easily drive into Windsor as there are plenty of food options in town. But we opted for convenience and booked a table at The Tournament Tavern.

I recommend you make the booking as soon as you plan your family stay, especially for breakfast. It gets busy quite quickly.

We were exhausted so we did not venture outside the park, but it was a bit pricey. You could definitely find better options for that price.
While the service was a bit slow, the food was ok. The thing is you don’t have many options, so you are likely to end up with a burger and chips.

We also really struggled to get a space for le petit-déjeuner as I have not booked a space before… Many parents come down early as you get access to the park half an hour before the rest of the public.

Breakfast was fine, but the portions are not huge. Go for a full English if you want to fill up for the day.
Miniland
We decided to extend our trip and booked a second day at the park. You can get yours for FREE now.

This time around, we spent more time in the famous Miniland.

After exploring places like London and its iconic locations, we stopped by Bricktopia for more building.

It’s a bit similar to the LEGOLAND Discovery in Manchester if you’ve been there before. Au programme, lots of fun for the kids. Stanley was in his element and I certainly enjoyed going back to my fav rides despite a bit of rain.

We went on the Minifigure Speedway like 4 times!

It’s an epic rollercoaster that you must do. I don’t know how we missed it the first time around. And if you have little ones with you, the Duplo Valley is always une bonne idée.

Et voilà! Just like that, our LEGOLAND adventure was coming to an end. Bien sûr, we came home with some new exclusive set.

Overnight Stay at LEGOLAND Windsor – Le Verdict
Staying Overnight at LEGOLAND Windsor comes to a price. From £500 for a family room, it’s quite a stretch.

Having said that, it is absolutely magical for children. Oui, the room is quite small, but it something totalement différent. We get to stay in many places thanks to my job, but I must say that we have not tested anything like that before.

Stanley was in heaven from start to finish and he could not believe all the LEGO themed activities to do there.

The LEGOLAND Castle Hotel bursts with colours and fun. Play with bricks, dream of a knight tale or pretend to be a wizard. It’s just a dream comes true for children.

Even I enjoyed it and thought our room was très spéciale. One thing I would say is that the food options are not necessarily the best. You could do with exploring another spot nearby. But it’s un choix personnel. We could not be bothered to drive to town.

Overall, we had a truly magical experience. We went on so many rides, tried some cool rollercoasters and built a lot of Legos! C’est le paradis for children. Even I am not necessarily a fan and I thought it was epic with the Halloween decorations. Plus, I must say that all the staff was lovely!
