A Letter from me to my friend – The post inspired by My Little Box

Today is not a post about being a maman or Frenchie Mummy giving you some tips. It’s a letter to a dear friend I have. Her name is Emilie.

Chère Emilie,

We go together like baguette and fromage and wine and fags! God knows we had many glasses of rosé with cigarettes in your garden in London when we were young. Well, I mean younger really. We still have it!

If we were a Hollywood power couple, we’d definitely be Marion Cotillard & Guillaume Canet. You’re the elegant and smart lady while I would be the not so funny man next to you. (I had to choose a Frenchie couple! And I think you are as elegant as Marion, vraiment!)

Marion Cotillard & Guillaume Canet

If we were a food combo, we’d be some nachos with very spicy guacamole and we would be délicieuses. Remember when we used to do some at your place for a BBQ in the hot British summer? (yeah, yeah, it happened, I promise!) I can see you again teaching me how to do it as I didn’t have a clue. It just shows my culinary talents… I am good at eating! It’s a start… And preparing food while I have un verre de vin.

I’ll admit. When we first met I thought you were kind of posh! Very parisienne actually. I just started working in this (not so nice) school in the South-East of London as a French Assistant. The Head of the Department asked me to help you setting up a room for a Parents Evening. I remember you running around, making sure everything was perfect. You asked me to do something and when I was done, you just changed it a bit so it was up to your standards. And me to think ‘God! She is well into it! Does it really matter if the French Flag is up or a bit lower?!’ No judgement here. I reckon I would be the same now with any trainee trying to do something like that in my classroom…

Now I know you’re actually just merveilleuse and so généreuse. I can’t wait till we’re two shrivelled old ladies, sitting out on in my garden, having a nice afternoon tea with cupcakes, our children running around and playing together. Or maybe we will be in a swimming pool in Spain, where you live now! Too far really… Even if we have Skype and WhatsApp, I really miss our little chatty sessions in your garden with some vin and some naughty cigarettes! He oh, we are both good girls now. You are pregnant with bébé numéro 2 and I have to be un bon exemple to Baba.

Promise me that even then, we’ll still be taking ridiculous photos together that we hashtag with #coolFrenchieMummies or  #coolcats forever (yes! I am a cool cat, whatever happens!).

Here’s to us! Wherever you are, you will still be my meilleure amie! Thanks for being so nice and inviting me to join your group when I arrived in London! Without you and your crew, I will not be here today for sure! I know that you would love me to move to Spain to be with you. Every time you ask me about joining your super école internationale, it breaks my heart to say no. Because I miss you and I would love to see you with your little bump. I would love to be a better friend, really here for you when you need me… And not just have a quick chat on the phone once in a lifetime…

Je t’aime!

Cécile xxxxxxx And so many more bisous for you and Bébé #2!

This post was inspired by the editor’s letter found in My little Box Magazine. You don’t know what My Little Box is? Well, check out their website right now! For sure you won’t regret it! How did I hear about this fantastic Frenchie brand?

Once upon a time, Frenchie Mummy was bored at home checking stuff on Facebook. When suddenly, a message popped up asking her to take a test to see what type of girl she was. Curieuse, she clicked. After doing the test and discovering that she was the perfect Londonie Girl, she continued onto My Little Box website.

Le concept est simple! Each month, this beauty box brings you a touch of Parisian chic. For only £14.95 a month (delivery included), you get exclusive Frenchie beauty products that you can’t always purchase in the UK, some great accessories and a magazine with beautiful illustrations from Kanako Kuno! And the best? You can unsubscribe any time you want online. Mais who would do that?! I love every single box I received so far.

I think it’s such a great way to feel feminine and treat yourself when you are a mummy at home! It would also be a perfect present for a friend who had it all or if you want to be original! Frenchie Mummy has never been disappointed with it since she subscribed in May. Look at the beautiful boxes she got so far!

Eh oui, you are not dreaming! It is indeed the headwrap I was wearing on the photo from one of my most popular post about being a SAHM! And this oil was just magical! All gone. I would use it everywhere on my body and even in my bath! It smelt too lovely…

I have been wearing the nail varnish all summer (and it’s not over yet!). And the T-shirt was THE outfit while we went on holiday.

The coconut is the smell that says ‘Summer Time!’ No need to go on an expensive holiday to feel good. Fresh and subtle, you are gone to le paradis tropical straight away. If really, you want to travel, use the passport cover to already dream. And the bracelet I had in it is not leaving my wrist!

  • August – The Friends Box, aka the Girl Power Box

I won’t spoil the surprise if you want to subscribe. Just know that you won’t be disappointed with a fun gadget to use on your smartphone (a little hint? Check my Instagram for some fun snaps of Baba with it!), a must-have accessory in any girl’s bag and some beauty goodies that you won’t be able to live without from now on!

So what are you waiting for? Go and subscribe to this wonderful beauty box pas comme les autres! Or treat a friend you don’t see enough or you love beaucoup. Friendship never ends!

You can find out more about My Little Box on their website, on Facebook and Instagram.

Frenchie Mummy didn’t receive any free products from My Little Box. She just received the last one (that she paid for! Don’t tell Grumpy Boyfriend that we can cancel the subscription when we want! He has on his head for us to save up money. I told him it was too late and I paid for a year upfront…) yesterday with this idée géniale to write a letter to her amie. She jumped at the opportunity to write this post and talk about this beauty box because she loves Frenchie brands like My Little Beauty that make her feel good and féminine. Furthermore, this box she receives every month reminds her of her très bonne amie Emilie! She also thinks it’s all about GIRL POWER!

I know, what a demanding Frenchie Mummy, right? But I will love you forever 😁. And on a cheeky note, may I remind you that this post is about sharing the love? 😇

And one more thing! Frenchie Mummy is running her first competition for you to win a cake from Baker Days. Having a little piece of cake is always nice, so don’t be shy and have a look over here.

    1. You should try it! You can do a three months trial if you want. It’s so good and different from the othe beauty boxes, really! I don’t want to stop mine any time soon. Thanks for reading x

  1. Lovely post, I don’t know how I would cope without my best friend. We talk on the phone every single day, sometimes more than once! She has kept me sane over the years! I’ve never had a subscription box before but these look fab, I always worry about signing up for something and then not liking it and it being a huge waste of money, didn’t realise you could do a three month trial! Fab! #sharewithme

  2. Friends like that are important. How sad is it that I have never done a subscription box before? I really must get on the band wagon.

Thanks for sharing and linking up at the Happy Now🙂

  3. Who wouldn’t love to receive such a letter?? You are very blessed, indeed, to have such a wonderful friend. They seem so plentiful in the hallways at school, but the older we get, the more precious and rare they become.🙂

    1. No worries I always do that as well when I email my mum and then she tells me off ‘Non mais tu te rends compte et tu es prof de français!!!!’ LOL xx

  4. I love the story of your friendship! I don’t have many friends, but the ones I do I am fiercely loyal to and think the world of. It must be really hard to live so far away, but I bet when you meet up it’s a riot! I love a beauty box too – sadly we are currently also on a mission to save money, so I don’t have a subscription running. You’ve really tempted me to start up again! Thanks so much for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove

  6. This is a lovely post Frenchie Mummy, it made me feel a little sad that I since having my little one I’ve not seen my friends as much. I miss having the chats, and necking bottles of wine, but I know that they are always there. The wonders of technology means that we are closer than ever before, and air travel is so easy these days, but I wish it was cheaper. Claire x #KCACOLS

  7. Love your letter to your friend, it’s a shame you live so far apart but it’s so much easier to stay in touch these days. The boxes sound like a lovely idea, definitely going to check it out. Love getting nice things in the post, it would be like having a birthday every month 😊#KCACOLS

  8. What a beautiful post to your lovely friend. I don’t have a close friend that I can call night or day, you may not live near each other but at least you have each other and that is so lovely. I don’t have a subscription box, I would be a nightmare if I signed up!! Thank you for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove Laura x

  9. What a lovely letter to your friend. It is such a shame when we can’t spend time with our friends when we would truly love to. I have a friend who I spent a lot of time with and we became very close. Then she got a job and I rarely saw her. A few weeks ago though she told me she has a job in the school both our children attend which means we can go back to having our morning chats!! I’m so pleased! I hope you manage to talk to your friend and perhaps take a holiday to Spain to see her. xxx
