Living Arrows 17/52 – Our Easter Break in West Sussex

I have been very bad with my little photography project. The truth is that the weather has been fantastique over the last weeks and we had some fabulous days out. So many pictures to share, but I barely had time to post any as we were so busy. And when I am back to work on Tuesday, I find it difficult to write anything. So nothing happens! I am going to make more of an effort to share our special moments. Even if fewer people read my Living Arrows posts, it will be a great collection of souvenirs for me. So today, our Living Arrows 17/52 presents you with our Easter Break in West Sussex.

Off we went to West Sussex

It’s been quite difficile to go away as Grumpy Boyfriend is very busy with his work but we decided to have 2 nights away from London. I was in charge of booking at the last minute, so I decided to treat myself to a spa hotel. I love being pampered and we have not had a weekend like this for such a long time. So I did it large and booked us 2 nights at the Spread Eagle Hotel in Midhurst.

The Spread Eagle Hotel

The place was just lovely! I managed to have some ‘me time’ at the spa and Baba was very proud to show off his brand new swimsuit to other people present in the pool.

Le Frenchie bébé was eager to discover his new environment. First, he decided that he would make some tea for the entire famille.

Get ready people, I am about to make some tea!

Seriously! He was obsessed with this tea set the whole time we stayed at the hotel.

Did you get that Maman? I am starting!

Maybe Baba is a future chef? If he cooks as well as his maman, pray for us all!

Once he finished thinking of himself as the Mad Hatter in the house, he decided it was time to pose for the camera while watching some cartoons.

Super busy watching cartoons, but the car is not far!

And of course, we witnessed some cheekiness… I mean, why being good and innocent when you can be a bit naughty!?

Playing with Mum’s brush, tick. Hovering where I should certainly not, tick 🙂

As I explained before, my baby has 5 flaws and it’s totally my partner’s fault! So I will blame it all on Grumpy Boyfriend 🙂

Thank god for that, Maman managed to find some time to rest and have a fabulous Afternoon Tea!

Quoi? She wants an Afternoon Tea now!? I just made her one!

Never ever forget to eat ladies! You need to keep your priorities, baby or not!

Baba’s tea was delicious. But the other one? Well, am I a bad mum if I say that it was divine?

Walking in Midhurst

But we didn’t only relax. Because the Frenchie family is really adventurous, we decided to discover the local town.

Amongst other things, we had a deep conversation with the famous Henry. Well, almost!

Baba fell asleep in the middle of the conversation…

Grumpy Boyfriend managed to get lost in a beers’ shop. If that it’s not being cultural, then what is it!?

The guilty place. There was a large choice of lagers…

And Baba obviously followed up, even though he found it a bit boring.

Still asleep, dreaming about making more tea!

And Maman dreamed about a new colourful décor for the Frenchie House!

‘I want all of these’, she said! But then ended up having a tea…

Exhausting!

Hollycombe Steam in the Country

It was time to become proper tourists! So we headed off to Hollycombe, a working steam museum.

We went on a train. Baba loved it!

A serious face but Papa took the camera out!

But what he really preferred was the fairground. Full of old-fashioned rides, he had a blast, to say the least.

He particularly liked the cars!

And he was obviously very proud to be at the front of the line!

Making sure all is in place in my Austin!

If anything, Baba was very happy to show people of how to do it!

Second gear on!Ready to go!

A future racer! Not a cook!

Frenchie Baba, the future Alain Prost?

Petworth House

Pour finir le weekend en beauté, nothing better than visiting a National Trust site and we went to a very beautiful place, Petworth House indeed!

The entrance to the house was lovely with an Easter Egg Hunt going on. Baba being too small for this, we decided to take some pictures in the park. After all, the ‘bluebells picture‘ is a classic at this time of the year. So we did it too!

Problème! Baba doesn’t like the grass! Every time we put him on it, he is very careful not to touch it!

Damn! They put me on this horrible green thing again!

Have you ever seen something like that?! The is so funny. If we try to place him on it, he just puts his hands up so that he can’t touch it! I know he is a bit of a diva like me sometimes, but this is another level…

5 minutes later and he has still not touched the grass.

Let’s hope he will change this trend soon!

Bored of it now! ‘Get me out of here!!!!’

The tulips were more of his taste, as well as crawling around the house, making as much noise as possible. He wanted to make sure that people noticed him…

Hi, everyone! Frenchie Baba is in the house today! Just in case you didn’t notice!

We finally relaxed by the pond, where le bébé was amazed at ducks.

My life is exhausting…

I hope you enjoyed reading Living Arrows 17/52 – Our Easter Break in West Sussex. It was so nice to have some family time!

A cup of tea anyone? I hope you loved reading about our Easter Break in West Sussex.

And sorry if you felt like having a cup of tea while going through this post! Our Easter Break in West Sussex was full of it!

Sounds like you had a lovely Easter break Cecile. We know Midhurst well as we have friends who live close by and I’ve heard great things about The Spread Eagle Hotel. I also keep meaning to take the boys to Hollycombe Steam too. #Kcacols
