Help! I am dying!

It’s horrible, I am dying! Today, I am going to write about something serious, traumatic… I am not sure I can, actually. I am still upset about it. I didn’t cry because I am forte, but it was close. It’s a shock to me. I knew it was going to happen, but I pretended it would not. Quelle erreur!

It’s evident now. I am dying. Slowly but surely. You see, I should have seen the signs warning me. It occurred once last year, then a second time. But I was pregnant so I thought it was normal. Tiredness, sickness are common signs when you are about to have un bébé. And it was worth it because I badly wanted to have Baba. I mean look at him! Who wouldn’t want to be all the time with such a lovely face?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
A gorgeous Frenchie Baby ?

I always thought I was pretty healthy. I do a bit of sport. Right, maybe not as much as I used to do since Baba. But I am very occupée, pretending I am a cool blogger and a super maman! Remember, I am a cool cat!

I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables. More than 5 a day as advised by any doctors. I am on a sugar-free diet. Ok, I might not have been totally following it lately because it was my birthday. And I had a free cake from Baker Days. And I even had some champagne. Eh oh! I was a birthday girl! Do you know how much it sucks to be celebrating the big day in August? Everyone is on holiday somewhere. Plus this year, we have Baba so we didn’t do it large. We went to Norfolk instead. That was lovely, though.

Still following me? Remember what was the main point of this post? Or am I losing you? So let’s recap! I AM DYING! My body which used to be mon allié for all these years is now massively letting me down. C’est horrible! C’est une catastrophe! That’s the end of the world!

The worst? I realised it in a public place. I explain. We were shopping with Grumpy Boyfriend the other day. Nothing exciting like buying a bag or some clothes. Non! It was the weekly food shopping. I was already in a bad mood because I don’t like it much and Grumpy Boyfriend was faffing around. He was looking for what fruit to buy, when we both know he would end up with grapes and blueberries, like every single week! I had no time for this! I had so much to do! About my blog, not the housework! You’re crazy!

Maintenant, let me tell you the tragic news. You see when you shop in the fruit and vegetable section in a supermarket? Have you ever noticed the mirror above your head? I suppose it’s to fight shoplifting or something like that? And now you wonder why on earth I am going on about that detail…

tumblr_md7dowxqq51ri9yduo1_250

Ok, I am getting to the point! Don’t rush me too much. C’est très difficile for me to write about it. Should I remind you that I am suffering?!

So anyway. I was there, getting the best pamplemouse ever possible (I bet you wonder what it is, right? Sorry, I am teasing you. Still not saying what’s wrong with me! ??). When l’accident occurred. I lifted my eyes and I saw it in this horrible mirror (why do they put mirrors like that in the shops! Do they want people like me to get depressed?! ).

It’s there. It’s big! It stands out from the rest! I can’t believe that Grumpy Boyfriend let me go out like that! Already once, I wore a dress inside out and he didn’t notice anything! It’s massive! You can’t miss it. There’s only one but there is no doubt. It’s there! C’est blanc, c’est grand, c’est horrible!

J’ai un  cheveux blanc!

You are not mistaken chers lecteurs! It’s my first grey hair! So it’s the evidence. I am getting old. My body, my cells, my dearest hair that I started to really look after this year….It’s all dying! It’s official

As I said earlier, I had two last year but then no more. I asked my hairdresser and she said it could happen when you were pregnant as the baby uses a lot of your energy. But now it’s for real. The process started.

Don’t worry lecteurs! I am not dead!

Not need to say that I took this naughty hair and uninvited stranger off as soon as we reached home. But since then, I am obsessed. I am looking meticulously for another one. Every day, every hour. I know it will happen soon. There is no way back.

Let ’em shine on through FrenchieMama! You are beautiful and so what, your crayons are running out of color…My hair is, well, let’s say theres a lot of snow on the roof. I used to color, then I c=gave it all up before big was born. I realized it went against everything I believe in –so there, just my 2 cents!
    M’wah!

Oh no! Get the hair-dye out is the only answer although I am sure you could rock it. I haven’t had my first grey yet but in my family the females tend to get 60 before they go grey. No joke! I am hoping the same for me!! Probaby wont happen #bestandworst

  3. August 17, 2016 / 7:28 am

Grey is the colour du jour, isn’t it? I wear my incresingly grey hair ironically and proudly, as if to say ‘Hell yeah, I’ve got grey hair and I AM rocking it!’ Failing that there is always Garnier Nutrisse Creme. #BloggerClubUK

  4. August 17, 2016 / 8:44 am

Haha!, oh dear! I haven’t spotted one yet, but do use a lightener on my hair. In theory I should be totally grey with my lot 🙂 xx

  5. August 17, 2016 / 9:06 am

I have no sympathy 🙂 I’ve been secretly grey for years….and I’ve just discovered my first grey underarm hair!!!!!!! I am not dying, I must already be dead… x

Incredibly well written and had me in suspense throughout.
However, just because you have a grey hair it doesn’t mean you’re getting old. If that as the case my poor uncle who turned grey at 18 (considering he’s Arab with dark skin and brown eyes) should be dead by now ?

My sincere sympathies to you Frenchie! I am also dying, I found the pesky hair a couple of months ago, of course I pulled it out but the constant surveying had begun, now, I’ve gone to hair dye… if I cover it, nobody need ever know! #bloggerclubuk

I haven’t seen a grey hair yet but I’m too scared to look! I’m not into this aging thing at all. My wrinkles are now so out of control I use the smooth function on facetune on all my photos to feel better about myself. #SharingTheBlogLove

  9. August 18, 2016 / 7:06 am

This is so funny. Amazingly I don’t have any grey hairs yet…but I have lots of wrinkles! #sharingthebloglove

Haha, I feel for you! There is nothing like having a child to bring out those pesky greys! I’m dark, so they show up really prominently – I take the ruthless approach and just pull them out! Don’t believe in any of this ‘two will grow back in its place’ nonsense! Thanks so much for sharing with us at #SharingtheBlogLove

  11. August 18, 2016 / 7:10 pm

I completely sympathise! Since my youngest three were born my grey hairs have multiplied, I have actually discovered a grey streak! Not just one hair, but about ten!! Right in the centre of my hair line so I cant disguise it! I’m in at the hairdressers tomorrow thank god!! #momsterslink

It may look grey but it might be white! White hair is cool… Accept it gracefully or buy hair dye! I’m afraid I’ll probably no encounter this problem because I’m blonde! Good luck ? #sharethebloglove

  16. August 19, 2016 / 1:14 pm

Hahaha!!! My advice…hair dye!!! Dye that bugger away and worry about it in a couple of months when he grows through again 🙂

  17. August 19, 2016 / 1:54 pm

I loved this! So funny. Sorry to hear about the dreaded grey though, I’m 24 and have about a million of them so not to worry, a quick dye job will see them off! I did find a grey eyebrow hair the other day though and immediately started shouting at everyone in my vicinity that it was their fault for stressing me out all the time.. Xx

Babies are what brought them to me as well. All I can say is that it’s actually quite fun having an excuse to go to the salon for a colour!

  19. August 19, 2016 / 6:44 pm

haha oopsie! I don’t have any yet but am red headed so may be a bit later. I do have some crows feet though and my knees seem a bit wrinkly. Does that count? Hope you can dye your one grey hair and thanks for sharing with #bestandworst x

Oh its horrible isn’t?? I dye my hair, but they still make their way through and those ones get pulled out. I won’t grow grey gracefully, no not me!!! Thank you for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove Laura x

I’m 41, and so far, no grays as of yet! Since my red hair is the only thing I like about myself (11 kids will do this to you), I will DEFINITELY dye it when it does happen. No question about it. 🙂 #Momsterslink

  22. August 22, 2016 / 4:55 pm

Oh my that made me laugh! I don’t know how old you are but I’m willing to bet I’m older than you . When I had my 2nd child – 9 years ago- my hair went grey practically over night. What did I do? booked straight into the hairdressers for a colour! and every 2 months thereafter LOL!

  23. August 22, 2016 / 4:58 pm

Oh my that made me laugh 😀 I went grey after I had my daughter 9 years ago. What did I do? straight down to the hairdressers for a colour! and every 2 months thereafter ever since LOL!

  25. August 25, 2016 / 5:04 pm

Ha ha, thank you. Made me laugh. I had my first white hairs at 24 and was duly horrified and reached straight for the bright red dye. Now that I am 41 they have begun to multiply a little and iI have decided to embrace the silver fox and go au natural #SharingtheBlogLove

  26. August 25, 2016 / 7:56 pm

Oh bless you – I’m not sure how I will cope when the time comes for me to see that first streak of silver. I’ll probably just deny its existence for as long as possible and tell myself and everyone else around me they are imagining it and seeing things. That will work right? #Sharingthebloglove

I am 33 and they seem to multiply by 2 with each year that passes. I still pluck them out when I can reach them but seriously who has time to dye their hair along with all the rest of the stuff us mum’s have to do?! I will tell you a secret though, it wasn’t until my grey hairs came through that I realised I had magic blood in me like from Lord of the rings or something because mine are silver. I found my first white hair the other day while sitting in the car. Im like I’m not even 30 yet there are still some months left but i didn’t remove it yet but i will be getting my hair colored in case any more make an appearance. My six year old has four white hairs along his crown.

  29. August 26, 2016 / 10:39 pm

I followed in my mum’s footsteps in my 20s!!! Been dying my hair ever since. I just need to stand next to my brother with his nice salt and pepper head to know how I’d look if I didn’t do it once a month at the hairdressers (I tend not to go out with him any more as he reveals my true age to everyone!) Why do men look so cool with it?!

Whatever you do…don’t refer to them as GRAY hairs…they are platinum blonde highlights and you have earned them! Each one represents how smart and wise you are and have become. You aren’t dying my dear…you are simply aging like fine wine. Thanks so much for linking with #momsterslink.

You really had me worried there for a moment ? Gray hair is inevitable once you cross over from care-free woman to ‘mommy’, no matter what your age. I have finally accepted (read: dyed) mine ?

  33. September 6, 2016 / 10:53 am

I have been going grey since I was 16 years old. It has been a tragic journey. Now at 27 I feel like I might be able to embrace them soon 🙂

  34. September 13, 2016 / 9:17 am

Oooooooh no! Quick pluck it out never be to be seen again…or will three more come back to haunt it? Oh god…I don’t feel I have any sage advice for you. I found one in my eyebrow once, my eyebrow!! I got that bugger out a-sap. It still comes back just to piss me off though… Im living in denial about this whole ageing thing – ignorance is bliss, come and join me in it! xx #chucklemums

At first I took it seriously and was thinking oh no not more bad news for someone (my sister had some bad news a few months ago) and then when I read it through I laughed and laughed. I was having a bad day and it really cheered me up. Thank so much for this post at a time when I needed it. You have such a beautiful writing style.

As for the grey hairs, they are now the bane of my life and no matter how much I dye the little buggers they still come back. I refuse to be beaten though 🙂
